Following is a brief overview of the main subjects we will be covering this week at school.
Reading: We will be reading a play, Two Good Friends. The final phonogram test will be Friday.
Math: This week, we’ll introduce and practice 2 digit addition and subtraction (without carryover). We’ll have a test on Friday.
Spelling: No spelling this week!
Important Notes:
OPEN HOUSE: TUESDAY, 6:30 to 7:30. Come and see what we have been working on!
ZOO FIELD TRIP: THURSDAY. Your child must bring a bag lunch from home. Please send it in a paper or plastic bag. We will not be taking lunch boxes to the zoo with us. Please check the weather report and dress your child accordingly. It is ALWAYS cooler at the Zoo than in Santa Clara. Make sure they bring a coat and dress in layers.
FIRST GRADE MUSIC PROGRAM: Next TUESDAY, 9:00 a.m. in the cafeteria. Please come and hear the great music we’ve been practicing. We’d love it if your child could wear something red, white or blue for the program to go along with our Patriotic songs!
Early dismissals: Remember that TUESDAY and FRIDAY are early dismissal days, like Wednesday.
Computer Lab: This week we will visit the computer lab for the last time.
